Back in 2004, three high school studentsâJames, Ian, and Jimmyâwere captivated by the possibilities of the internet. We were living in a time when coding websites from scratch in a notepad application was the norm, and the concept of content management systems (CMS) was still in its infancy. The early 2000s were a time of trial and error, where creating even a basic website required a deep understanding of HTML, CSS, and a good deal of patience.
At the time, web development was a skill that few possessed. With a growing number of businesses and individuals wanting an online presence, there was a significant gap between those who had the technical knowledge to build a website and those who needed one. Recognizing this need, we formed JIJ Web Services (now JIJ Web Solutions) with the simple goal of providing design and scripting services to those who didn’t have the knowledge or resources to do so themselves.
In those early days, CMS platforms were rudimentary, often requiring extensive tinkering to ensure websites functioned properly across different web browsers. But we thrived in this environment, experimenting with the latest tools and pushing the boundaries of what was possible. Our passion for the internet and our commitment to helping others brought us together, and we quickly became known for our ability to create custom solutions that worked seamlessly.
As the years passed, the internet evolved, and so did we. Today, content management systems have matured, and WordPress stands as the dominant force in website creation. With its user-friendly interface, extensive customization options, and robust support community, WordPress has become our go-to platform for building websites. Whether it’s a personal blog, a company intranet, or a large eCommerce store, WordPress provides the flexibility and reliability our clients need.
As of August 2024, WordPress powers 43.5% of all websitesâapproximately 478 million sites. This staggering statistic means that, on average, two out of every five websites are built on WordPress. It’s a testament to the platform’s versatility and the trust that millions of users have placed in it.
